Getting The Most Money For Your Used Trucks And Trailers

Whether you’re an O/O or running a small fleet, your main focus should be putting miles on your truck so you can keep the revenue flowing. That’s why you probably don’t have a lot of available time to spend writing and placing ads in all of those expensive print magazines and advertising in newspapers. Fear not, there are websites that cater to the sale of used trucks and trailers online.

In this seller’s market used trucks and trailers are commanding a high price. Advertising outlets know this and they’ve responded by jacking up the costs for an ad. In fact, many sites are even charging more for each photo that you post in an attempt to wring every last dollar out of anyone with a trucking-related product to sell. Some sites think that is, excuse the pun, highway robbery.

With diesel topping out a $3.00 per gallon and higher in many places, state permit costs on the rise, tolls and insurance going through the roof, and weigh stations staying open around the clock in order to help make your wallet lighter — it shouldn’t cost you an arm and a leg to sell your used trucks or trailers.

And that’s why online equipment advertising is becoming so popular. Websites run by truckers and their families, are the Internet’s premier classified ad sites dedicated solely to advertising used trucks and trailers. When you place your ad, it isn’t lost alongside of ads for ponies and pianos, and ad rates won’t keep you tossing in the sleeper like a bad ride down the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Where some advertising companies keep their hands in your pocket until your ad stops running, there are websites that only ask you for $19.95 one time! And look at all you get with some of the best sites we found:

Your ads runs until sold!

You can add up to 20 photos at no extra charge!

You reach millions of serious buyers who are looking for exactly what you are selling!

Your photo ads get featured on a home page.

All ads appear the moment that they’re paid for. There’s no wasted lag time. In fact, you could end up like many users who report selling their item within 24 hours after it was listed. Some have actually sold theirs on the same day!

We know what it’s like to be busy and that time is money when you’re getting paid by the mile. The online advertising process is easy and simple. You can even check your ad results from the road at any Internet-connected terminal at thousands of truck stops or other public locations around the world. You can even log in from your own Internet-connected PDA or other device.

Don’t waste time and money looking for buyers in all the wrong places. List your used truck and trailers on the web and get the kind of results that can only come from being seen on THE place to go for truckers looking to buy the things that truckers buy. If you have something to sell, try selling it on the web, you’ll be glad to say, it’s sold!

Marking the Lincoln Mark III

Meaning “cut” in the French language, coupe is one of the body
styles of cars and vehicles. It has a close-coupled interior
that offers two seats or 2 + 2 seating. The latter means that
there is space for two people in the front and two more in the
rear as well. Starting the 1960s, the term coupe has been used
exclusively to fixed-roof models. If one would go back in
history, you would see that the term itself had been used during
the 1950s to refer to convertible models and this term, coupe,
was used as “convertible coupes” when referring to that type of
vehicle. Of course, there have been many variations with regards
to this car body style. There are automobile makers who offer
these sporting two doors, four doors, or even five doors for
hatchback coupes.

One coupe that is running under the Lincoln brand and name is
the Lincoln Mark III. It is Lincoln’s personal luxury coupe that
was sold in the United States and the rest of North American
starting from 1969 up until 1971. The name of this vehicle has
brought about confusion for there have been two cars that also
held the same name, well, almost. There is the Continental Mark
III, and another one from Lincoln.

During the design and production stage of the Lincoln Mark III,
it was intended so as to be able to compete with the Cadillac El
Dorado which held a new front wheel drive. The Lincoln Mark III,
upon introduction, made its way at the top end of the personal
luxury car market. It was priced higher and better appointed.
This vehicle shared some features that were just like its
competitor, the Cadillac El Dorado. Both vehicles were actually
based on the underpinnings of another car in the same parent
company’s range. Also, both coupes held mechanical and engine
components that were very much identical. On the other hand, the
Lincoln Mark III was still unique for it exuded a more massive,
taller, and heavier aura and look. It was actually almost 300
pounds heavier than the Cadillac El Dorado.

The Lincoln Mark III
was unmistakably a Lincoln. The styling was done with the
Lincoln design in mind. It was square, was more upright looking,
had the typical Lincoln grille, had smooth doors to cover its
headlights, and held the typical Continental fake spare-tire
bulge on the rear deck.

L
incoln Parts and Car Parts has in its stock all Lincoln
equipment needs as well as top of the line Lincoln car parts
like AC condensers, engine parts and more. This
online store boasts of top caliber parts and accessories for all
Lincoln models. Lincoln Parts and Car Parts also guarantees its

Electirc RC Cars for Fun and Excitement

Electric RC cars and trucks are generally considered best for beginners, since even if you choose to build your own car, they tend to be simpler and easier than nitro cars. They’re also a great deal quieter and run much cleaner, meaning you’re less restricted by where you can run them. In terms of speed and power, they do have a great deal of pickup, though not as much as the nitro cars.

Electric RC cars use rechargeable battery packs to power their motor and steering, which are usually recharged from a 12-volt car battery or wall socket. Batteries run for about 5-10 minutes, depending on the type of engine your car has, and charging the battery usually takes 15-30 minutes. Because of this, it is strongly recommended you have at least two battery packs, to allow for quick replacement of the battery. This means your car can keep running while the other battery is recharging, giving the car more overall running time.

At first glance, getting started with an electric RC car can be much less expensive than a nitro vehicle. But there are other costs to consider as well, such as additional battery packs, a battery charger and other accessories that will add to the cost, making it closer to the price of a nitro car in the long run. Of course, this cost also depends on what kind of car you end up purchasing and what kind of battery pack it requires, as well as how often you run the car and the quality of the batteries you get. Though the initial outlay of cash can be steep, but you’ll want to get quality battery packs and a good charger to save replacing cheaper batteries.

The main reason electric RC’s are said to be easier than nitro is in the amount of maintenance and tuning their engines require. Though the care, maintenance and cost of battery packs is steep, it is still less trouble for the new driver than the air filters, tuning, fueling and various other engine parts that require attention on a nitro car. Instead, careful conditioning and proper storage of your battery packs will keep your electric RC running smoothly for years. Always consult your manufacturer’s instructions to make sure you’re getting the right battery packs for your car, and that you’re caring for them properly.

Easier and cleaner, electric RC cars and trucks offer the genuine racing experience to the beginner on an easy learning curve. Proper conditioning and maintenance of the car and its battery packs are still easier than the many parts and problems often associated with nitro RC’s. If you’re a beginner, or if you just want to get to the races, an electric RC can offer you the speed and fun you’re after for less work.

Also keep in mind that if you think you’d prefer an electric RC, but still want the experience of building your own car, that you can also purchase electric kits. These include complete instructions to build your own car from scratch, and because their systems are less complex than the nitro cars, they are a little easier to build yourself.

Electric RC Car Motors

In order to prevent unnecessary wear and tear on your electric motor, it is important to always break in your motor, before you drive it for the first time, and every time after you change its brushes. One easy method is to run the vehicle with the wheels off of the ground at about 1/4 power for about 5 minutes. This will slowly get the brushes fully seated to the commutator without causing wear and tear on the engine, and will allow your motor to run at its full potential.

Your electric car will come with instructions on how to change the brushes on the motor, as well guidelines for how often. Remember, if you change the brushes on your motor, be sure to break it in again. How often you replace the brushes—and the motor, for that matter—depends on where and how much you’re running or racing your car. Generally, a motor should be replaced after it has gone through five or more pairs of brushes, but it will always depend on the individual car, its motor and how well they’re running.

Check That Used Car

A new car may not be worth all that money you are planning on spending!

If you are on a really tight budget, and don’t care too much about the prestige of having a brand new car, purchasing a used car might be the best option for you. Why do we say that might be the better option?

All you have to do is pick up a used car listing to see that brand new cars lose anywhere from 30 to 40 percent of their original price in as little as two years. That’s a pretty steep number. Here’s another number, 65 percent – this is the amount you save if you buy a used car that is five years old instead of a brand new one.

Theoretically speaking cars of this age, as long as they have been well cared for will perform just as well and are just as reliable as their brand new counterparts. In fact, they may even be better customized for daily use since it has already been broken in and properly set up.

Of course, you cannot discount the possibility that the used car you are looking at is not in the best of conditions. Therefore when surveying used cars to purchase consult the following tips.

1. Check the Exterior

The first thing to look at is the overall condition of the car’s body and finish. Look out for paint blotches and poor body fit. Also look for body filler. You may want to use a simple magnet to help you pinpoint suspicious spots. Finding any of these is evidence of a previous car collision.

Also look out if the car is newly painted. You may want to inquire why this is so. It may mean a major overhaul due to some extensive damage. Rust is a bad sign of body damage, so is dampness in the trunk.

2. Check Suspension

Go to each corner of the car and push down on them. If the car bounces more than once, you may need to have shocks installed.

Try nudging or pulling the wheels from beside the car. If the wheels can be nudged, or if they move in or out, there could be serious damage to the CV joints or the bearings.

If tire wear is uneven, this is indicative of bad suspension. If the car you are checking has new tires, you will have to exercise more caution and test the suspension thoroughly.

3. Check the Insides of the Car

Make sure the upholstery, odor, and condition of the car’s interior are acceptable and in line with the age of the car.

4. Take It for a Spin

Have a friend observe you while you take the car for test drive. The car should be stable and should not show signs of shifting from side to side. If so, there could be a major problem with the frame or suspension. If you can, have a mechanic look at it too.

The internet has changed the way everyone does business. Businesses have begun to explore how the internet can facilitate better, faster and more convenient operations. This has resulted in businesses that offer anything online - from selling clothes and shoes, to ordering pizza online and even searching for available realty. Believe it or not, you can even search for used cars online too.

Gregory Ashton, your resident automobile enthusiast, bringing to you over 20 years of vehicular passion, and expertise; presents for your approval his insider secrets on selecting, buying, and maintianing the car that is ideal for you. www.best-car-buying-tips.com

Lift Kits - The Raised Truck Craze Gone Wild

There was a day when trucks were a working man’s vehicle and scratches were expected. Shells protected valuables and tonneau covers protected tools. Those days are over and truck enthusiasts are souping up their rides more than ever before. With the addition of popular movies featuring fancy cars and popular television shows that glorify plasma screens and ground shaking stereo systems, the custom truck rage is here to stay.

As a sign of manhood or personal taste, many truck owners decide to lift their rides for a performance altered appearance. Lift kits can actually be found online and can be installed on your truck in a do-it-yourself fashion. Some lift systems can be somewhat difficult to install, but after all, challenges are what get us men going and when we are determined, who knows what will happen.

The following bullet points are the benefits to installing a new suspension system with lift kit on your truck:

  • Style
  • Performance
  • Increase in ground clearance
  • Looks that could make a grown man cry!

The sky’s the limit when you go high-profile with your truck or SUV! Lift Kits push ground clearance and aggressive looks to new heights, letting you conquer on or off-road obstacles with confidence. Lift Kit Manufacturers make custom parts that will fit your specific truck to a “T” to give you the look that you’ve been wanting. My lift kit was recently tested at an off road rally down near Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and let me tell you - I didn’t get stuck in the dirt. Ground clearance was needed on the off road trails that we were on and the drool on my buddies faces proved that the style could easily make a grown man cry.

Transportation Industry Finding Relief for Fuel Costs

Fuel costs affect every facet of life. Farm machinery, trucks, boats, trains, school buses, etc., all consume fuel in order to provide food, transportation, and products for us. We, the end consumers ultimately end up paying for rising fuel costs by higher priced foods, clothing, housing, education, transportation, etc., as well as our own fuel.

The impact on our transportation industry has far reaching consequences. The American Trucking Association already “…deeply concerned about the impact of diesel price increases on the motor carrier industry and on our national economy…”, offers tips for saving on fuel as well as naming truck stops providing the cheapest fuels, etc.

Many school districts, desperately attempting to offset fuel costs while addressing the negative impact on children’s health from toxic exhaust emissions, are being forced to strip money from classrooms, trim bus routes, and eliminate field trips. Charging fees for bus services or requiring students to walk further distances to school are being seriously considered. Some districts in Arizona concerned about health to children’s vulnerable lungs, have begun a program encouraging bus drivers to turn buses off rather than idle.

According to the National Voice for the Marine Charter Industry, fuel prices are “cutting into the ‘already slim profit margins’ of the nation’s 40,000 charter boat operators….”

Like many consumers searching for fuel budget remedies, including owners of boats, buses, trucks, trains, and automobiles, myriads of fuel additives and/or fuel conditioners have been used and tested resulting in minimal or no noticeable difference in fuel savings, much less reduced emissions. Making matters worse, many left behind damaged engines and/or fuel systems.

One company searching for relief found it when they decided to test yet another fuel conditioner in their quest for emission reduction and fuel savings. Call Sign Magazine made the official announcement that Dial-A-Cab would be testing a fuel conditioner called the UBiee PowerPill Fe-3, promising to publish results in the October 2005 issue.

Call Sign Magazine October 2005 issue published results from all tests, resounding “…drivers say it works!” and they were still talking about it in their February 2006 issue. A further article was also published in the February 2006 issue of The Taxi Globe Newspaper, with interviews of the actual taxi drivers who tested the UBiee PowerPill Fe-3.

Ring SMS UBiee CEO and President, Dr. Michael U. Dolgoruky, not surprised by the fuel savings or emission reductions, stated, “Not only does it help performance, fuel consumption and emissions, but our experience shows that parts connected to the fuel, such as filters and injectors, etc., are also lasting much longer, also adding to the savings brought on by the Power Pill. In fact, the most recent documented report included a 45% savings within the boating industry.”

Originating at NASA and now manufactured under ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Program, exclusive marketing rights were secured by Ring SMS UBiee in three continents, and the PowerPill, aka, UBiee PowerPil Fe-3, resonates its fuel savings, maintenance savings, and emission reduction around the globe in over 69 countries.

With record high fuel prices, a welcomed helping hand of relief for consumer budgets and the transportation industry resounds via a tested and proven environmentally friendly product known as the UBiee PowerPill Fe-3. Accompanied with a historically proven track record resulting in fuel savings and emission reduction, as well as maintenance savings and extended engine life, the future looks brighter.

Whadd’ya Mean You’re Not a ‘Grease Monkey’!

People get so funny (and I mean funny weird, not funny ‘ha ha’) when you call them by the wrong name. What’s even more strange is that I’m not referring to their given name, no I am referring to their job title or their working name… Take for instance ‘GREASE MONKEY’

I love that name. It conjures up the oddest pictures. Granted it does not necessarily paint the worlds most professional image (after all, some people think monkeys are smelly skittish creatures) but it does paint a mental image and one hell of a good one.

That’s the funny part though isn’t it. Words which by their very definition are static and flat (until spoken of course), are our meagre attempt at packaging a thought, idea or concept into a sound.

We even choose to let sounds evoke an emotional response. Think about this for a moment, when someone shouts a rude word at you what has happened – nothing really. You heard a sound, you ‘recognized’ it and then you ‘interpreted’ it, and finally you gave it meaning based on experience.

And that’s where it gets really interesting. YOU DECIDED what to think, feel and do because you heard a sound. Pretty powerful stuff if you stop and think about it. The trouble is though, if we stop and think about this too much it all unravels and you’ll get a headache (grin).

But all kidding aside, you decide what a word means. So why on earth do mechanics get so bent out of shape over a sound – sorry I meant to say a few words: GREASE MONKEY. Try this with me. Say grease monkey ten times fast. I bet you can’t help smiling – I do.

The term evokes in me pleasant memories, of a bygone era when people were kinder and more gentler. It reminds me of my late Grandfather (a giant of man) and his generation. Today people seem to take things far too seriously, take for instance this monstrous mouthful:

TRANSPARENT WALL TECHNICIAN

Do you have any idea what this fellow does for a living? Go on, take a guess. Did you get it right? They’re a window cleaner. A perfectly respectable and absolutely necessary job. But for some reason they felt that the newer name made them sound more ‘officious’. If you ask me (as a marketer) it’s a fool-proof way of getting lost in the shuffle. I mean seriously folks, when was the last time you went looking for a ‘transparent wall technician’ in the local phone book.

You think I’m missing the point because I’m not an automotive technician? You think that I don’t get the fact you feel you get little or no respect – I understand. In fact each day I try to help build the industry’s image with positive articles, adverts and marketing advice. You guys are great – I get it, but I’m not your customer.

I am not the only one who is ‘confused’ by the new automotive names you’ve taken. There is empirical evidence wish shows that when you changed your name from ‘mechanic’ to ‘automotive technician’ - although you may have felt better about yourselves - you lost customers.

Decades of time was invested in the word mechanic – and ironically – grease monkey. People associated the terms with their vehicles. When your car breaks down you seek out a mechanic. Technicians fix computers and other technical gadgets – I know, cars are now basically computers on wheels, but the consumer doesn’t yet see them that way. Why ignore all that good will and positive ‘brand’ history?

Here’s some of that proof I mentioned earlier - it’s been taken from Overture, a website that shows the terms people are seeking, the counts are local and for one month:

#1) Automotive Mechanic – 5384
#2) Grease Monkey – 3396
#3) Automotive Technician – 2122

Look, I know you don’t like ‘grease monkey’ and quite frankly I get it. But people seem to look for it 60% more frequently than technician. And mechanic is still the #1 term outperforming technician by about 250%

Here’s my closing thought. Do you want to be rich or righteous or found?

Save Thousands at Auto Auctions - Without Marrying a Car Dealer!

The Common Misconception: Auto auctions are only open to car
dealers.

The Surprising Truth: Anyone with the right resources can
participate in the same auctions as the dealers!

Think about it. How much could you save if you bypassed the
dealers and purchased directly from their sources? 30%, 50%,
maybe even 75%.

As unbelievable as this sounds, it is possible with a little
patience and research.

As you probably already know from past experience, car dealers
will do ANYTHING to get you into the car of your dreams. Whether
you can afford it or not!

I can recall a former coworker who got into a new luxury vehicle
with a little “creative financing.” The manager divided his
mortgage payment in two. His justification: As a married man his
wife was responsible for the other half of the mortgage….even
though she was a stay at home mom! Luckily for them, they found
a way to pay their huge car payment and avoid repossession.

Unfortunately, others aren’t quite as lucky. Thousands of people
default on their loans everyday simply because they couldn’t
really afford it in the first place.

This can work to your advantage. The banks and financial
institutions that serviced the loans want to recoup their loss
as quicly as possible. Add to that the exhorbitant cost of
storing these vehicles, and you can easily see why the banks
want to dispose of them in a timely manner.

After all, the longer financial institutions have to store these
vehicles, the less money they’re going to get back.

Auto auctions are the quickest way for banks to rid themselves
of repossessed vehicles.

Car dealers know this, and they go to great lenghts to protect
this knowledge from the general public. After all, auto auctions
are a huge source of revenue. Dealers can purchase vehicles at a
fraction of their value, and then resell them at a huge mark-up.

But what if you could avoid the dealer’s mark-up and instead pay
what they pay? What impact would that have on your wallet?

Amazingly enough, auto auctions are not solely restricted to car
dealers. Up until a few years ago, I too shared this common
misconception.

It was only by sheer luck that I stumbled upon a website that
allowed me to search local auctions by zip code and vehicle make
that I learned the surprising truth. I was paying dealers
thosands of dollars in unnecessary mark-ups.

I tried the website’s search feature out, and to my surprise the
cars listed were exactly what I wanted. Only a few years old
with very low miles. Many of them were still under the
manufacturer’s original warranty! This made sense of course,
since most of them were repossessions.

The auction house was even willing to throw in a vehicle history
report at no extra cost and a 3 month warranty.

Sure I wouldn’t get the complimentary car washes and oil changes
the dealer throws in, but that surely wasn’t worth thousands of
dollars in premiums.

After a little hesitation I joined the auto auction membership
site. They helped me locate auto auctions in my area, and gain
admission to them through their exclusive access rights. I
learned what questions to ask, and how to handle the bidding
process.

It was a lot simpler then I ever imagined it could be.

The day of the auction, I showed up a few hours early to inspect
the vehicle I was interested in and get a feel for the place.

It must have been a slow day, because when my car came up for
auction only a few dealers were bidding against me. Since I
wasn’t buying the vehicle for resale, I succeeded in outbidding
the dealers!

It was a truely empowering experience. I got the vehicle of my
dreams, and I only paid a little over half its book value!

What did this experience teach me? Auto Auctions can save you
thousands in unnecessary dealer mark-ups.

No matter what vehicle you drive, whether it is a passenger car, a van, a Sport Utility Vehicle or a truck, it is subject to common car problems from time to time. Volvo cars are no excuse. Starting problems are among the most common car problems you might encounter while driving your Volvo car. If your engine cranks normally despite low or high temperatures, there must be a problem with the fuel injection system. As we all know, fuel is the lifeblood of the vehicle so if there is insufficient amount of fuel reaching the engine, your car won’t be able to perform as it should. Having reliable Volvo diesel fuel injection parts in your car can guarantee you more efficient delivery of fuel to the engine.

There’s a big difference between a low quality fuel injection than a first-class Volvo fuel injection. Although the latter may be priced higher than the first, your driving satisfaction is always guaranteed when you get a top quality product. Even fuel injectors with slightly higher ignition power can significantly improve engine performance and fuel emissions. Also, a dependable brand of fuel injection prevents common injection problems such as varnish deposits, clogging and fuel leakage. Of course you don’t want to sacrifice your driving satisfaction by getting low quality replacement auto parts so look for a Volvo Parts dealer that can supply you with the most dependable parts—new Volvo Parts and Used Volvo Parts alike.

Compared to gasoline injectors, the diesel fuel injectors operate at a higher pressure so they are required to meet higher quality standards. Extreme heat can also cause wear and tear faster than expected so your Volvo fuel injector must be highly resistant to extreme temperatures. High quality fuel injectors are usually made of high alloy chrome steel that can withstand harsh conditions under the hood. You can get this and other Volvo fuel injection parts at Volvo Parts and Car Parts, a comprehensive Volvo auto parts store specializing in selling highly durable and top quality Volvo Parts.
