Free Contact Lenses - How You Can Get Them At Insane Prices

Unfortunately, contact lenses are way more expensive than eyeglasses. Even though a pair of lenses is significantly cheaper than a pair of glasses, contact lenses must be replaced time and time again and they require cleansing solution too. Occasionally hospitals and charity organizations will offer eye checkups and give out free contact lenses but there is a way you can save money on contacts regularly.

Instead of purchasing lenses through your doctor, shop around online! Not only is it more convenient to buy contacts online, but it also allows you to easily research the brands that your optometrist has recommended. But most of all, you can sometimes save up to 70% on lenses buy purchasing them over the internet. Pay attention to consumer reviews and shipping costs.

And be careful on the World Wide Web. Your eyes are delicate and important - do not order contact lenses online if you are not well researched about the web-based company selling them to you. As long as you are familiar with the brand and quality of the contacts you order however, you should be fine.

Also, cosmetic contact lenses are not typically purchased but when they are, they are much cheaper than prescribed lenses and even go at bargain prices sometimes. When someone buys these lenses, it is for mere decorative purposes though.

Decorative color contact lenses and special effect contact lenses are available without prescription and a wide variety of options and prices exist - but anyone interested in these prescription free contact lenses should be especially concerned about the reputation of the company selling them. More anonymous internet companies sporting prescription free contact lenses may not be as reliable as a local eye care professional. Make sure the lenses are FDA-approved before purchase.

Jocelyn Meadows does her best to bring you the latest developments in contact lenses technology. Read more about colored contacts and how colored eye contacts can help you.

NIFTY NAMES FOR NECTARS OF THE GODS

Copyright The Quipping Queen 2005.

NIFTY NAMES FOR NECTARS OF THE GODS

Or, do they really make wicked witty Wines from DeVines?

By Theolonius McTavish, a man of mirth and good cheer not to
mention a keen interest in finding just the right seasonal gift
for impossible people or those who appear to have everything.

If you’re like me, you truly can’t abide trundling through the
stores at this time of year hunting for just the right seasonal
gift for certain impossible people in your life, (you know
…the cantankerous cubicle colleague or feisty family member
you want to avoid at all costs).

Fear not there is a simple solution at hand in the form of
“naughty and nice” names when referring to nectars of the gods.
For those who enjoy dining at a table, there’s always a
selection of deliriously decadent drinks to accompany one’s
vittles, you know the ones with “big aromas”, “full of body”
just oozing all over with “flavor, spice and style”!

To make a long story short, I’ve found the best way to separate
the “hoi polloi” from the “hoity-toity” is to take a wee peek at
the wicked wine labels appearing on the shelf of your favorite
liquor store.

The high-falutin, long-nosed snooty boot folks usually prefer
wines with real corks and long foreign names to accompany their
double crme brie, melted raclette, or a sheep’s milk cheese
with a reddish brown rind served on crunchy, multi-grained
crackers or sliced French bread.

The low-brow, pug-nosed types on the other hand often prefer
casual “walkabout” wines (those with screw caps that can be
served with home-made pizza or else “wild” ones synonymous with
tossing lushness and refinement right out the door!

To make purchasing wines with wicked, weird or just plain wicked
names easy, two quaffing categories have been created,
“Snippy/Snooty” and “Sassy/Spunky”. We’ll leave it up to readers
to decide which personalities fit into which wine categories.

Just make sure you pick up one of the following saucy stocking
stuffers, ’cause you never know when a generously proportioned,
sybaritic male with whiskers, dressed in a red tunic doing a lot
of huffing and puffing not to mention far too many Ho Ho Hos may
lose his memory one of these fine days.

So, without further ado…here’s a ludicrously long list to get
you started you on your way to a few DeVine Interventions:

A New Resident’s Guide to Living in Florida

If you’re new to Florida, then you’ve probably already realized how diverse culture is in the Sunshine State. The cost of living, schools, and people will vary from the Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama connections of life in the Panhandle, to Latino influences in the most southern tip. The good news about getting adjusted to life in Florida is that you’re not alone. Most of the people who live there have relocated from another state; therefore, you are surrounded by millions who know exactly what it feels like to be a newbie. Besides contacting the Chamber of Commerce in whichever community you end up in to get all of their new resident information, you can count on the following to be consistent throughout most parts of Florida.
Big tax breaks on property and personal income tax are some of the big bonuses to living in Florida. Be sure to file for the Homestead Exception to see if you qualify for further cuts. Unlike getting a driver’s license, filing for the Homestead Exception, registering to vote, or filling out a declaration of domicile, will establish your residency in Florida. A driver’s license will only establish your intent to reside in Florida.

Various permits, forms, and licenses are also necessary for boats, the use of beaches and coastal areas, docks, burning, vehicles and fishing. These will often vary according to county. StateofFlorida.com offers information specific to each of these needs and breaks them down into categories. It also has links to Florida State agencies to help relocating individuals or businesses.

Getting the right insurance for your Tampa Bay Florida real estate property and belongings while you live in Florida is a necessity. The recent rash of hurricanes has inspired the Office of Insurance Regulation to reorganize themselves to serve this important aspect of Florida living. Crosscheck some of their links to make sure that your insurance covers all of the possibilities.

Be sure to call or visit the website for the Florida Department of Education to find out how local schools rate in your area. In fact, selecting your property according to school districts may be a good idea if you have, or expect to start, a family in Florida. Each school also has a report on it done by the School Advisory Council Report which rates schools on performance, attendance and various features.

Afternoon thunderstorms are a part of life almost everyday for Floridians during the summertime. This is just one of the features of Florida’s weather that relocators should know about. Being prepared for Florida’s weather will make the transition of relocating much easier. Be sure to ask your neighbors how they prepare for hurricanes and heavy rain. Make sure that you have supplies on hand throughout the year. Also, ask your local authorities about what you should have on hand, what to expect, and who to contact for help.

Expect to see a lot more of your friends and families now that you live in Florida. Visiting you will become a vacation for many of them. It may save you money in the long run to buy year passes to some of the attractions in or around your town or city. It also wouldn’t hurt to collect some brochures from the local Chamber of Commerce, so you have a mini-library of resources at your fingertips for day trips and exciting attractions. Remember that Florida relies on tourism for one of its biggest economies. Your loved ones will still consider Florida one of the top vacation spots long after you have become accustomed to living in the Sunshine State. Be sure to keep any welcome packages you receive from your real estate agent or home owner’s association at finger’s reach for yourself, and for visitors.

Buying Term Life Insurance Online

For many years the process of purchasing a term life insurance
policy meant meeting with an insurance sales agent and
discussing available policies. This meant the buyer had to carve
out time to meet with the agent, to listen to a variety of
policy options that may not have been of interest to them, and
to expose themselves to the potential of being “over sold” by a
persuasive agent. The time-consuming process reduced the
incentive to “shop” for the best rate and certainly led many to
spend more than what was necessary for their term life insurance
policy.

Today, buying term life insurance online offers an alternative
to the traditional method of finding insurance. Term life
insurance policies, in general, are relatively simple and
streamlined. They are devoid of details requiring a great deal
of discussion and detail and can be quickly understood and
encapsulated, removing the need for an agent to assist in
“interpreting” the product. The simplicity of term life
insurance makes its online purchase very attractive. Although an
important investment, term life insurance is not an especially
confusing or complex product and can usually be fully understood
by a reasonably well-informed consumer without expert assistance.

Buying term life insurance online provides consumers with a
great opportunity to compare the policies and rates of many
different providers simultaneously without the requirement of
lengthy discussions and meetings with a host of agents. There
are literally hundreds of internet sites where one can find
policy details and price comparisons. A few keystrokes and mouse
clicks are all that is required in order to evaluate an array of
competing term life insurance policies. This unique advantage of
using the internet to buy term life insurance represents a
significant advantage over traditional buying processes.

Those who buy term life insurance online also find great rates
on policies. Not only are they likely to find the best rates via
comparison shopping, they are also benefited by the fact that
offerings made over the internet direct to the consumer require
less overhead investment on the part of the agent or insurance
company than traditional processes. As such, rates are generally
lower across the board. Buying term life insurance online
creates a great means of saving money on a policy.

Additionally, buying term life insurance online is incredibly
quick. There is no need to schedule visits with multiple agents
in their offices. There are no long conversations about
unrelated products or lengthy sales pitches about a new program.
The insurance-buying process is streamlined and what was once a
time-consuming hassle is transformed into a quick, easy means of
searching out and purchasing a term life plan that perfectly
meets one’s needs.

Old methods of purchasing term life insurance do not afford the
efficiency, flexibility or cost-savings of finding the right
policy online. Using the internet to purchase term life
insurance policies is a great way for consumers to get what they
really want quickly, inexpensively, and painlessly.

29 Off-The-Wall Reasons To Get In Better Shape

Establishing clear expectations while working out often can be the difference between success and failure. Too many people try to do too much and get frustrated. Instead of “lasering” in on a few great strategies, they try to do as many things as possible. As they say, “Jack of all trades, master of none” applies here.

To help renew your spirits of why proper diet and exercise is important for the New Year, I’ve compiled a somewhat comical list. See how many apply to you:

• Because it costs you (or your loved ones) over 5 million pennies in future health care if you aren’t

• Because feeling better tomorrow starts today

• Because torture is a bad persuasion technique

• Because studies show that fit people make more money

• Because if you don’t, you suck

• Because movie stars do it

• Because performers do it

• Because everyone that is cool in your life, does it

• Because you CAN commit 1.5 hrs/wk out of 176

• Because avoiding a wheelchair is a good thing

• Because hugs are better when you can actually wrap your arms around someone

• Because your kids really don’t want to put you in a rest home

• Because no matter what you keep telling yourself, thick is not sexy

• Because feeling grandpa’s muscles at Thanksgiving can be a yearly ritual

• Because cottage cheese is for fruit

• Because squeezing into a size 6 means you’re not a size 6

• Because love making is much more fun without the extra rolls

• Because being able to see your toes……hmmmm

• Because bigger clothes cost more money

• Because shopping for smaller clothes raises spirits

• Because hitting the State Fair and observing everyone shouldn’t be the only thing that puts a smile on your face

• Because having the woman in your life open a stuck jar of pickles for you is embarrassing

• Because no matter what anyone says, women are always in competition with each other. You do want to win, right?

• Because you had to ask your 10 year old son to take out the trash…..after all you couldn’t lift it

• Because beer makes everyone else look better while making you look worse

• Because weight training makes you look better while making everyone else look worse (see competition in women)

• Because yelling at the gym is a lot better than yelling at work (unless you are a cheerleader)

• Because “Shut your mouth or I’ll kick your ___,” now actually has meaning

• Because being told you look 40 when you are actually 60 does something strange to self confidence

Again, make sure to renew your sense of self worth this holiday season and strive to become a healthier you. Great information is always key but watch out for the dreaded “information overload.” Get equipped and make ‘06 the best year of your life.

Is The Second Coming Of Christ The End Of The World?

With tsunamis, hurricanes, earthquakes, wars and calamities of
all sorts occurring with ever greater frequency throughout the
earth many people fear the end of the world may be near. Are
they right? The answer may surprise you.

Wars, natural disasters, droughts, famines and all sorts of
general calamities are predicted just before the second coming
of Christ. All of these portents are merely a prelude to the
second coming of Christ but they are not signals of the end of
the world, they are only signals of the second coming. When
Christ returns the world does not end, what does end is the
world as we know it.

Although not comprehensive here are two lists, one is what will
end at the second coming of Christ the other is a list of what
will begin. One thing that will become blatantly apparent as you
read the lists is that the world does not end.

What will end at the second coming of Christ?

* Satan’s rule of the earth and his deceiving the nations.
Revelation 20:2

* Democracies, monarchies, dictatorships and all other forms of
rule by men. Revelation 11:15

* Sorrows, warfare, sickness, hunger, misrule, crime, hospitals,
prisons, police forces, fires, accidents, disasters, and
barriers of all kinds between nations. Revelation 7:17

* Cities as we know them today. Revelation 16:19

* Islands and mountains as we know them today. Revelation 16:20

What will begin at the second coming of Christ?

* Judgment of the earth and its inhabitants. (Not the final
judgment) Revelation 20:2

* The physical and bodily resurrection of all the believers
throughout time. Revelation 20:6

* Beginning of not only Christ’s rule but the co-rule of his
redeemed men and women for a period of exactly one thousand
years. Revelation 20:4

* Nature at rest and in perfect harmony for the first time in
history. Isaiah 11:6-8, 65:12

* Permanent rewards given to believers in accordance with their
faithfulness. Isaiah 57:13

* The full knowledge of God throughout the entire globe. Isaiah
11:9

This list does not cover the great judgments of God just before
Christ’s return or things like the great battle of Armageddon.
It is meant only to show that at His returning, Christ will do
anything but end the world. I have never tried to scare anyone
into belief in God and I don’t intend to start now. What I would
do is urge anyone to make a decision to prepare for these events
and look on the good side of it. A world that comes out like it
does when Christ returns is a place any sensible person would
want to see and live in. That’s the bottom line, so why not be
there?

Faith in Christ is the vehicle that gets you to that world and
to that day. I can’t make a single person believe this but I
have committed my life to making the second coming of Christ as
clear as I can to anyone who is willing to listen. The rest is
up to them.

From High School Summer Camp to Cinematographer for the Stars

Jeremy Jackson, a student at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, enrolled in a Digital Video Production summer course at iD Tech Camps UCLA location. At this weeklong, hands-on technology summer program for ages 7-17 located at universities nationwide, Jeremy developed an understanding for shooting, editing, and creating special effects using Adobe software.

Jeremy’s father, an animator for Disney, inspired his son at a young age with a passion for filmmaking and CGI (Computer Generated Imagery). Since perfecting his skills at camp, Jeremy attends Hollywood movie premieres as the cinematographer for 16 year-old Fred Medill, the host of “Fred TV.” A series with informative interviews of celebrities in motion pictures and television, and star athletes, “Fred TV” has taken Hollywood by storm. Jeremy can be seen at many Hollywood premieres behind the camera as Fred interviews celebrities.

While having used Adobe® software for school projects, Jeremy never used Adobe Photoshop® and Adobe After Effects® to create special effects for a movie until attending iD Tech Camps. Along with classmates, Jeremy created high-end special effects and learned advanced compositing and cinematography. Many of the effects that they created have been used in popular Hollywood movies. While a completely new program for Jeremy, After Effects quickly became a favorite.

“You can do everything with After Effects, from making it rain to making a guy freeze in mid-air,” said Jeremy while describing his camp movie The Majority Report- A movie about the powers of good vs. evil. Jeremy and his classmates used an effect which caused three fleeing men to freeze in mid-air, before resuming running.

During camp, Jeremy’s movie premiered at Family Showcase. “Everyone watching the movie was very impressed by the quality of the special effects my son’s group was able to create in just one week,” said Jeremy’s mom, Meredith Jackson. “The movie was a hit and I think we’ve watched it 100 times since then!”

Students like Jeremy use digitized footage in Adobe After Effects to add special effects like chroma key. They composited multiple layers of video to give the footage different effects. The software is so user-friendly that even a teenage camper like Jeremy can easily add impressive lasers and fire using plug-ins.

“It’s exciting teaching campers how to composite layers within their digital movie,” said Jeremy’s instructor, Kevin Painchaud, owner of a Hollywood-based production company whose movie “NTV-1″ had a sellout crowd for their screening at the Hollywood Film Festival. “Jeremy’s passion for filmmaking poured out of him each day, inside and outside of the classroom. He just really wanted to learn everything there was to know about filmmaking and caught on very quickly,” said Mr. Painchaud. It looks like the next Steven Spielberg may have just gotten his start!

As for now, Jeremy continues to accompany Fred to Hollywood premieres, getting experience shooting the stars. Someday he hopes to be a Cinematographer for motion pictures, just like his mentor from camp, Mr. Painchaud.

Karen Thurm Safran writes for iD Tech Camps which is the nation’s leading and most recommended summer technology camp. What SMS Users Are Telling Telcos

The recent rollout of 3G-ready mobile devices has caused a lot of excitement in the Telco industry, especially in the Asia-Pacific region. This article will highlight the message that current customers are sending through their SMS messaging habits. Many consumers have been used to sending SMS for at least 2 years. Even with its humble typing of tiny keypads and source of simple news channel, SMS is a global phenomenon. Telcos must take time to study what their customers are saying.

Here are some guideposts.

Equitable Pricing Plan:

Most customers fall under a mobile plan that guarantees a certain number of free SMS a month. This will imply that even with future sophisticated messaging systems, they are still more inclined to expect the same pricing plan. Thus it could be inappropriate to introduce a per-messaging pricing, no matter of sophisticated the delivery. Telcos must conduct extensive market research to find the correct pricing plan.

Customisation of Ads:

Customers are not only willing to receive high quality advertisements on their mobile devices, but also want these advertisements to be customized to their interests and preferences. This implies that customers are ready to share more personal details and the mobile devices can be viewed as a channel for dynamic and real-time feedback channel. This may spell the demise of the print newsletter and survey form as the penetration rate for mobile devices increase.

Unchanged Keypad:

Many critics of the SMS system had reservations that customers are not adept at typing messages through small mobile device’s keyboard. They had felt that the customer is too impatient and too many typing errors will be made. Well they were wrong! Telcos should collaborate with phone makers to keep the current mobile device’s keyboard unchanged and concentrate on keeping the screen larger and equipped with better resolution.

Integrating the experience:

Telcos must pay heed in collaborating with the various broadcasting corporations to create an integrated experience. Current mobile device users are very comfortable in voice and SMS communication. Take this as an example: A customer plays a LAN game on broadband in an Internet Café, decides to leave the play-station and continues the game on a mobile device. When he reaches home, he turns on his home entertainment system and continues the final stage of the game. This is possible with the GPRS system and 3G Technology synergising with the broadcasting corporation. But more importantly, a number of media and communication providers benefit from this integration. New revenue streams can be developed.

The overlooked education industry:

It is unfortunate that the education industry has not fully utilized SMS to complement the delivery of lecture notes and tests. The same grouses are the small mobile device screen and the lack of security features to determine the identity of the user. However, with 3G technology, educators should think out of the box and allow students to spend more time off campus to conduct their own research. Occasionally, they can arrange for the student to sit for a test that can be transmitted through their mobile devices.

Untapped Security Market:

The Mobile Device can be the next “in-thing” as a security device. The concept is relatively simple. The student’s location can be tracked by the GPRS system through the mobile device and the parent can have a face-to-face chat with the child. This concept can also be stretched to include these devices in various parts of a car - i.e. like a black box in a plane. If there are any major accidents, insurance companies can view these recordings and get a better picture of the accident.
